Our client is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join a growing organization where you'll play a critical role in supporting employees, maintaining compliance, and driving payroll excellence.

What You'll Do
- Process payroll for hourly, salaried, and multi-state employees
- Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on schedule
- Review and audit payroll data, including new hires, terminations, bonuses, commissions, and benefits deductions
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile payroll reports, tax filings, and general ledger accounts
- Support payroll-related audits and year-end activities including W-2 processing
- Partner with HR, Accounting, and Benefits teams to ensure accurate employee data
- Assist with payroll process improvements, system upgrades, and automation initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience
- Experience handling multi-state payroll preferred
- Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage compliance requirements
- Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Paycom, Workday, Ceridian, Paylocity, or similar platforms
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
- Experience supporting large employee populations
- Exposure to payroll implementations or system conversions
- Accounting or finance background preferred
- Experience with reconciliations and reporting
