\nJob Summary
\nUnder Physician supervision, the Certified Nurse Midwife will provide pre-pregnancy and pregnancy care, labor and delivery, postpartum and gynecological services for the lifespan of women. Must demonstrate the knowledge, critical thinking and skills to plan, coordinate and provide care on a continuing basis.

\nEssential Functions:

Performs an exam, obtains complete medical history and records findings.
\n - \n
Order and interpret diagnostic procedures.
\n - \n
Manage women's healthcare including primary diagnoses, managing prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
\n - \n
Prescribes medications and injections in compliance with, their scope of practice, state law, and clinic guidelines.
\n - \n
Instructs patient/family regarding medications and treatments.
\n - \n
Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention.
\n - \n
Collaborates with physicians in managing medical needs of patients.
\n - \n
Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
\n - \n
Maintains and reviews patient records and other pertinent information.
\n - \n
Maintains patient confidentiality.
\n - \n
All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements
\nRequired:
\n Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
\n Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing; Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Experience - 3+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
\nRegarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.
Preferred:
\n Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing
Physical Requirements:
\n Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
