Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist in Minnesota to work an 8-week contract providing essential pharmacy services in a dynamic healthcare setting. This role requires flexibility to support various shifts, including weekends, to ensure continuous patient care.
Location:
- Elk River, MN (with coverage needs in the Fridley/Minneapolis area)
Schedule:
- Flexible shifts between 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM - 8:30 PM
- Rotating Saturday and Sunday shifts
Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal and regulatory standards
- Monitor patient medication adherence and usage patterns to promote safe and effective therapy
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation with precision
- Provide medication counseling, including usage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interaction guidance
- Offer clinical services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on the correct use and maintenance of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, to maintain workflow efficiency
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues ensuring optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota pharmacist license must be in-hand
- Will consider retail pharmacists and provide training as needed on clinical and compounding procedures
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, as part of a rotating schedule
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
