A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist in Minnesota to work an 8-week contract providing essential pharmacy services in a dynamic healthcare setting. This role requires flexibility to support various shifts, including weekends, to ensure continuous patient care.

Location:

  • Elk River, MN (with coverage needs in the Fridley/Minneapolis area)

Schedule:

  • Flexible shifts between 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM - 8:30 PM
  • Rotating Saturday and Sunday shifts

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal and regulatory standards
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and usage patterns to promote safe and effective therapy
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation with precision
  • Provide medication counseling, including usage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interaction guidance
  • Offer clinical services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
  • Educate patients on the correct use and maintenance of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, to maintain workflow efficiency
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues ensuring optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications:

  • Current Minnesota pharmacist license must be in-hand
  • Will consider retail pharmacists and provide training as needed on clinical and compounding procedures
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, as part of a rotating schedule
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
