Job Description
Step into a meaningful role where you'll make a real impact as a Special Education "Focus Teacher" for the upcoming school year. Multiple contract positions are available supporting middle and elementary school students in a resource or center-based setting, with assignments spanning from August 17, 2026, to June 3, 2027. You'll collaborate with a dynamic team providing expert instruction both in resource and behavior-focused classrooms, including specialized ASD and DCD programs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license in at least one of the following: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood Special Education, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, or Academic & Behavioral Strategist (ABS license is optional).
- Demonstrated strength in behavior management strategies and problem-solving within a special education setting.
- Current knowledge of behavior intervention plans, classroom structure, and routines.
- Proven ability to work effectively with both special and general education teams, including collaborative scheduling and direction of paraprofessionals.
- Exemplary attendance record and professional reliability are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized support and instruction as a resource or center-based teacher, focusing on students with cross-categorical behavioral and learning needs.
- Implement and monitor individualized education plans, adapting instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
- Collaborate closely with fellow educators, paraprofessionals, and support staff to develop and maintain effective classroom environments.
- Support equitable and positive learning experiences for all students on your caseload.
