Job Description
Make a difference in the educational journey of students on the autism spectrum as a dedicated Autism Specialist. This opportunity is a full-time contract role supporting K-12 learners within a 35-mile radius of Medford, Oregon—including the Ashland area through Eagle Point and Grants Pass. You’ll work onsite in a dynamic educational setting, collaborating closely with students, staff, and families to provide essential services and expertise.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Special Education, Speech-Language Pathology, Psychology, or related field
- Valid OR TSPC license or Board Certification (for SLPs or BCBAs)
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with students on the Autism spectrum at various age/grade levels
- Demonstrated skill with a continuum of learners—from high-functioning students in general education to those who are non-speaking in self-contained classrooms
- Proficiency in conducting autism-specific assessments and evaluations
- Familiarity with public education settings and Special Education requirements
- BCBAs will be considered if they have autism-focused expertise and relevant school experience
Responsibilities:
- Consult with educators, families, and support teams to develop and implement individualized strategies for students with autism
- Conduct comprehensive autism assessments and contribute to IEP processes
- Provide coaching, modeling, and technical assistance to educators regarding best practices for autism support and behavior intervention
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams and maintain clear, timely documentation
- Facilitate staff development sessions and share up-to-date research in the autism field
