This role is situated at our medical center located at Fort Bragg, NC.

This recruitment is part of a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) initiative aimed at attracting and appointing qualified individuals to roles within the competitive service of the Department of Defense. The purpose of this announcement is to create a pool of readily available candidates for positions that are challenging to fill as they arise. Named in honor of Medal of Honor recipient PFC Bryant H. Womack, our fully accredited 110-bed regional medical center serves as a GME facility for Fort Bragg, the largest U.S. Army installation globally and home to Airborne and Special Operations. We operate several exceptional Primary Care practice sites in Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks.

Located in Fayetteville, Fort Bragg is conveniently positioned just two hours from the coast and five hours from the Appalachian Mountains, with easy access to I-95 for travel north and south. This central North Carolina area enjoys pleasant weather throughout the year and offers a variety of amenities, including top-notch golf courses, esteemed universities, a skeet range, riding stables, an ice skating rink, modern fitness centers, daycare services, excellent dining options, full-service banking, convenience stores, barbershops, and florists.

Key Duties:

• Provide specialized knowledge in advanced general diagnostic radiology procedures, including but not limited to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA), Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
• Gather patient history for general radiographic diagnoses, review relevant laboratory test results, and evaluate the severity of illnesses.
• Supervise radiographic examinations, ensuring that appropriate procedures are followed while correlating symptoms with the patient's pain and illness.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

To qualify, candidates must meet the educational and/or experiential criteria outlined below. Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited. Your resume should clearly outline your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Physician (Radiology-Diagnostic):

• Degree: A Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by recognized bodies such as the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. For degrees from foreign medical schools, equivalency to accredited U.S. institutions must be demonstrated through permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
• Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• Graduate Training: Following the attainment of a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have completed at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution.

In addition to the basic requirements, candidates must also fulfill the following qualifications:

Residency Training for GP-14 Position:

• Candidates must have successfully completed the necessary accredited residency training in the relevant specialty (Radiology-Diagnostic) and possess equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Experience cannot substitute for the required residency training for this specialty.

Salary Information:

If selected for a Physician position, a salary quote will not be provided at the time of the initial job offer. The salary determination process will commence after the acceptance of the initial job offer. This process involves the Activity Compensation Panel calculating base pay and market pay to establish your starting salary, which will be communicated once approved. Compensation for physician roles is based on a tiered scale determined by specialty, grade, and location. This announcement may be utilized to fill positions within the following salary tiers:
