School-Based Physical Therapist - Deer River, Minnesota

Step into a rewarding role supporting K-12 students across multiple school sites as a Physical Therapist on a full-time contract assignment. This unique opportunity spans locations in the Deer River region, helping to deliver vital PT services to a diverse student population. The assignment is an itinerant position, covering schools in Deer River, Coleraine, Nashwauk, Floodwood, Hill City, and Remer, providing both variety and the chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

This contract begins August 24, 2026, and is expected to last six to nine months as a medical leave coverage. Your Monday through Friday schedule will run from 8:00am to 3:45pm, ensuring a consistent workweek.

Key Qualifications:

• Licensed Physical Therapist in Minnesota
• Previous pediatric or school-based PT experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapting interventions accordingly
• Strong communication and organizational skills to manage an itinerant schedule
• Ability to build rapport and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
• Reliable transportation for travel between school sites

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative PT services to K-12 students based on IEP goals
• Manage a caseload of 63 students, ensuring compliance with required documentation and timelines
• Develop individualized treatment plans and regular progress notes
• Collaborate in IEP meetings, sharing expertise with educational teams
• Consult with school staff to recommend adaptations, equipment, and classroom strategies
• Travel among assigned schools as scheduled to meet student needs
