Job Description
Step into a vital role supporting young learners by providing occupational therapy services for grades 3 through 5 in an engaging intermediate school environment. This contract opportunity begins September 8, 2026, and continues through June 16, 2027. The position offers flexibility, with 2 to 3 workdays each week—choose between two full days or more days with reduced hours. Typical hours run from 8:05 am to 2:45 pm, allowing for work-life balance while making a meaningful impact.
In this role, you’ll primarily provide consultative services with some direct intervention focused on fine motor and sensory support for a caseload of approximately 25 students, all within a single building. Collaborate closely with staff and families to promote student success and independence.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Current license as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Previous school-based OT experience, preferably at the elementary/intermediate level
- Strong assessment, intervention, and consultation skills in fine motor and sensory development
- Ability to build positive, effective relationships with students, educators, and families
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct student assessments and develop individualized plans to support functional skills
- Deliver consultative and direct OT services responsive to student needs
- Collaborate with teachers and special education teams to integrate therapy goals into the school day
- Document progress and maintain compliance with required paperwork
- Support a positive, inclusive environment that helps students thrive in their learning community
