Role OverviewThis position involves delivering direct nursing care in environments where patients require intricate assessments and interventions, adhering to the established policies and protocols of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities- Gather comprehensive information from patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to create a complete understanding of the patient's needs.
- Analyze and synthesize assessment data to determine relevant diagnoses or conditions.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the interprofessional team to identify optimal outcomes.
- Formulate a care plan that outlines strategies and alternatives to achieve desired outcomes, utilizing clinical judgment in partnership with the patient and care team.
- Execute the care plan, ensuring a safe environment and coordinating efforts with patients, families, and the interprofessional team.
- Assess processes and progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
- Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, reflecting on personal performance and staying updated on knowledge and skills.
- Communicate effectively across all practice areas, fostering collaboration with patients, families, and the interprofessional team.
- Utilize clinical inquiry and integrate evidence-based practices into nursing care.
- Apply established evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge to critical care nursing, ensuring care is tailored to the patient's age and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
- Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
- Regularly communicate verbally to convey information.
- Frequent standing and walking are required.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing between 0-50 lbs.
- Regularly engage in sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
- Consistently use vision for near and far distances, as well as to identify colors.
- Utilize smell for odor detection and hearing for communication and alarms.
- Occasional driving may be required.
- Rarely involves crawling or running.
Depending on the state of work location, the following certifications are required:
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Nurse (RN) - State-specific licensing body
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) - AHA or other relevant certifications as specified.
