Volunteer Caregiver Café Ambassador

Overview: Caregiver Café Ambassador Seacoast Dementia Hub Volunteer Program The RiverWoods Group is currently adding to our Volunteer team for the New Seacoast Dementia Hub! The Seacoast Dementia Hub Volunteer Program is dedicated to building a compassionate, well-trained, and dependable network of volunteers committed to supporting caregivers and individuals affected by dementia. Through education, emotional connection, and community engagement, our volunteers play a vital role in enhancing quality of life, reducing caregiver isolation, and fostering a more informed and understanding community. We strive to empower volunteers with the knowledge, empathy, and practical tools needed to provide meaningful assistance whether through direct support, advocacy, outreach, or educational initiatives. Together, we aim to create a supportive environment where caregivers and families feel valued, connected, and confident in navigating the challenges of dementia care. Caregiver Café Ambassadors help create warm, supportive spaces where caregivers can connect, share experiences, and find community. Volunteers plan and host cafés that foster peer connection, learning, and mutual encouragement. Ambassadors play a key role in making each gathering inclusive, welcoming, and meaningful for caregivers navigating the challenges of dementia care. Responsibilities: \n

• Plan and host Caregiver Café gatherings.
\n
• Create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
\n
• Coordinate guest speakers, discussion topics, and refreshments.
\n
• Foster open, respectful dialogue and ensure all voices are heard.
\n
• Collaborate with Seacoast Dementia Hub staff and volunteers to promote cafés and share feedback.
\n

  Commitment: 3–5 hours per month

\n

Qualifications: \n

All volunteers must meet the following criteria:

\n

\n
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in dementia care or caregiving. Combination of both preferred.
\n
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
\n
• Reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to complete training.
\n
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect boundaries.
\n
• Preferred: Experience working with older adults, trauma-informed care, or peer support.
\n
