Travel Hospital Pharmacist in Pierce, NE

An opportunity is available for a Travel Night Shift Pharmacist at a 120-bed Level III trauma center located in Pierce, NE. This role involves providing critical pharmacy support during overnight hours in a fast-paced hospital environment. The position is scheduled for a 13+ week assignment with an ASAP start, working a 7-on, 7-off schedule from 8 pm to 7 am (Wednesday through Tuesday).

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety
• Perform kinetic dosing to optimize patient medication regimens
• Conduct thorough medication checks prior to distribution
• Respond to nursing staff inquiries regarding medications and protocols
• Oversee the compounding of medications during night shifts
• Manage outpatient prescription filling for emergency department patients overnight

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Nebraska pharmacist license is required
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system is a plus; training is available for the right candidate
• Experience with Pyxis automated dispensing systems advantageous
• Ability to work independently during night shifts with pharmacy technician support available

Schedule:

• Night shift: 8 pm to 7 am
• 7 consecutive days on followed by 7 days off (Wednesday through Tuesday)
