Job Description
Make a difference as a Special Education Teacher providing meaningful support in a Life Skills self-contained classroom. Set in a welcoming school community near Universal City, TX, the assignment begins on August 12, 2026, with a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Generalist and Special Education teaching certifications (required)
- Previous experience with Life Skills or self-contained classrooms strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to adapt lessons for diverse learning styles and needs
- Solid classroom management and communication skills
- Strong commitment to advocacy and empowerment for students with disabilities
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) addressing both academic and functional skills
- Foster a supportive, positive classroom culture that promotes growth and independence
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to ensure student success
- Assess student progress and modify interventions as needed
- Maintain accurate records and effectively communicate progress with stakeholders
