Special Education Teacher in Universal City, TX

Qualifications:

• Valid Texas Generalist and Special Education teaching certifications (required)
• Previous experience with Life Skills or self-contained classrooms strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to adapt lessons for diverse learning styles and needs
• Solid classroom management and communication skills
• Strong commitment to advocacy and empowerment for students with disabilities

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) addressing both academic and functional skills
• Foster a supportive, positive classroom culture that promotes growth and independence
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to ensure student success
• Assess student progress and modify interventions as needed
• Maintain accurate records and effectively communicate progress with stakeholders
