Job Description
Make a positive impact working as a Special Education Teacher supporting affective needs students at the elementary level in the North Denver area. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering specialized instruction and fostering a supportive learning environment for elementary-age learners in one dedicated school.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Teacher License with a Special Education Generalist (Ages 5–21) Endorsement.
- Previous experience with affective needs or in a special education setting preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow educators, support staff, and families.
- Strong communication and organization skills, with capacity to manage records and required documentation.
- Commitment to professional growth and meeting all time-sensitive district credentialing requirements, including completion of a contractor packet upon offer.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to student needs.
- Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to students with affective needs.
- Work closely with students, parents, and the wider school team to support social, emotional, and academic development.
- Adapt and modify curriculum, classroom strategies, and interventions as needed.
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings and team discussions.
- Uphold best practices in special education within an inclusive and diverse school community.
This position is on site at one elementary school in Northglenn, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week. This contract role starts as soon as possible and runs through October 2nd, offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a supportive school setting.
