Qualifications:
- Valid state teaching certification with Generalist and Special Education credentials
- Previous experience teaching in a special education environment preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to adapt instruction for individual student needs, particularly in a self-contained life skills setting
Responsibilities:
- Teach, guide, and support students with diverse exceptionalities in a self-contained classroom focused on life skills
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Create a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, parents, and administrators
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and accommodations to maximize student learning and growth
