Position: Travel OR Charge Nurse
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Department: OR/Surgery
Shifts Available: Days and Nights
Compensation: Up to $1,657–$2,297 gross pay weekly; equivalent to $41.44–$57.43 per hour.
Assignment Duration: 12 weeks

- Oversee OR operations and nursing personnel during assigned shifts.
- Ensure safe, high-quality patient care while adhering to regulations and hospital policies.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and daily assignments effectively.
- Supervise, mentor, and support staff development and performance.
- Assist with performance management and HR-related tasks.
- Monitor supplies, equipment, and overall department readiness.
- Coordinate surgical services, patient flow, and transitions in care.
- Address patient care concerns and escalate issues through the appropriate channels.
- Engage with patients and families to enhance their experience.
- Provide direct patient care as necessary to uphold staffing and care standards.
- Education and Experience:
- Current and valid RN license in the state.
- Current BLS certification (AHA) upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
- Current ACLS certification (AHA) upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital or emergency department.
- PALS certification (AHA) upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
- Required previous supervisory experience.
- One to two years of supervisory experience in an acute care hospital Surgical OR setting is required.
- Competency in Sedation Monitoring upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
Our organization offers competitive pay, with a compensation estimate for this role ranging from $41.44 to $57.43. This estimate is specific to Maine and has not been adjusted for other geographic areas. The final compensation offered will be determined during the hiring process, taking into account various factors such as skill set, relevant experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
