This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller or Head of Finance looking to step into a broad, strategic leadership role with responsibility for financial control, reporting, treasury, systems, governance and continuous improvement, whilst partnering closely with senior leadership and private equity stakeholders.

Role

\n

The Group Financial Controller plays a pivotal leadership role within the Group Finance function, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful financial information across a complex multi-entity business. You will lead the financial processing and reporting teams while providing oversight of financial systems, treasury, governance and risk management, helping modernise the finance function through technology, automation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the financial processing and reporting teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • \n
  • Deliver an efficient month-end close and ensure accurate, timely management and board reporting.
  • \n
  • Provide meaningful financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • \n
  • Partner with operational, commercial and senior leadership teams across the business.
  • \n
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management and working capital across the Group.
  • \n
  • Ensure robust financial controls, balance sheet integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
  • \n
  • Support statutory reporting, external audit and governance requirements.
  • \n
  • Provide strategic oversight of financial systems, including continuous improvement, automation and reporting enhancements.
  • \n
  • Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships and intercompany funding.
  • \n
  • Lead risk management processes and support internal audit activities.
  • \n
  • Play a key role in business transformation, M&A activity, acquisitions, integrations and group restructuring projects.
  • \n
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and data quality.
  • \n

About You

\n
    \n
  • ACA or ACCA qualified with significant post-qualified experience.
  • \n
  • Proven background in Financial Control, Group Reporting or a senior finance leadership role.
  • \n
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge within a complex multi-entity environment.
  • \n
  • Experience leading and developing finance teams.
  • \n
  • Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • \n
  • Hands-on leader with a passion for improving processes, controls and systems.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Experience within a PE-backed, infrastructure, utilities, energy or similarly complex business would be advantageous.

  • Basic salary of £90,000 - £100,000.
