5-Axis Laser Operator / Setter Location: Coventry Pay: £17.34 per hour Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Recruitable Staffing Solutions are recruiting an experienced 5-Axis Laser Operator / Setter for a permanent position with an established precision engineering and manufacturing business in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled laser operator looking for stable, long-term employment within a professional manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have previous experience setting and operating 5-axis laser machinery, adjusting programs at the machine and inspecting completed components against engineering drawings and quality specifications. The Role As a 5-Axis Laser Operator / Setter, your responsibilities will include: * Setting and operating 5-axis laser machinery * Running programs created offline by the CAD Manager * Modifying programs using the machine control screen or hand-held teach box * Completing machine datum setting and re-datum procedures when required * Producing first-off components and completing inspection documentation * Checking manufactured parts against engineering drawings and specifications * Monitoring production quality throughout the manufacturing process * Identifying and resolving machine, programming and production issues * Completing basic machine checks and routine maintenance * Ensuring components are produced accurately and efficiently * Following all health and safety, quality and manufacturing procedures Skills and Experience Required Candidates should have: * Previous experience setting and operating 5-axis laser machinery * Experience modifying programs directly at the machine * Confidence using machine control systems or hand-held teach boxes * Experience completing first-off inspections * The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings * A good understanding of machine datum setting * Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills * Excellent attention to detail * A quality-focused approach to manufacturing * The ability to work independently and as part of a production team Experience within precision engineering, automotive, aerospace, fabrication or a similar manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
