Financial Controller

Join an innovation-led engineering business with an exciting future. They're looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller to lead financial operations, strengthen controls and provide the insight that supports business performance. This hybrid role is based in Northampton, with 1-2 days per week on site, offering the opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and accurate reporting.
\n
• Own the month-end close, management accounts and cash flow reporting.
\n
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the business.
\n
• Partner with operational, commercial and technical teams to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
\n
• Support audit processes, compliance requirements and continuous process improvement.
\n
• Enhance reporting, systems and finance processes to improve efficiency and visibility.
\n
• Provide commercial analysis and financial support to senior leadership.
\n

\n
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
\n
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or in a similar senior finance role.
\n
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial control experience.
\n
• Proven ability to deliver budgets, forecasts and insightful management reporting.
\n
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
\n
• Experience within engineering, manufacturing, technology or other project-based organisations would be advantageous.
\n

£80,000-£90,000 + benefits
