Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated Fostering Support Worker to join our proactive team. This role is crucial in supporting Kinship Foster Carers and prospective Special Guardians, ensuring that children can remain within friends and family networks safely when they cannot stay with their parents. The ideal candidate will be a child-focused practitioner who is committed to improving the experiences and outcomes for children and young people.

• Support Kinship Foster Carers and prospective Special Guardians to maintain high standards of care.
\n
• Prioritise safeguarding and stability while ensuring that practice is regulatory compliant.
\n
• Engage carers effectively and build supportive relationships with colleagues.
\n
• Access appropriate services to meet the needs of children, young people, and their families.
\n
• Provide an environment where children and young people can stay safe, be healthy, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution, and have economic well-being.
\n
• Maintain up-to-date, accurate written records of work undertaken with children, young people, and their carers.
\n
• Attend, participate in, and contribute to Foster Panel, planning meetings, reviews, and case conferences.
\n
• Work closely and flexibly with other agencies and the local community to ensure a cohesive approach.

• Qualifications: NNEB, BTEC in Nursery Nursing, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education, NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People, Health Social Care Level 3 in Children and Young People.
\n
• Knowledge of equality, diversity, community cohesion, childcare, and relevant legislation including the Fostering Regulations, National Minimum Standards, and Care Planning Regulations.
\n
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work using initiative.
\n
• IT skills and the ability to provide written reports and give evidence in court as required.
\n
• Ability to work in an anti-discriminatory manner and to plan, develop, and implement programmes of work.
\n
• Ability to formulate accurate assessments of children, young people, and their families.
\n
