Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join great team in an established family-owned business in Leeds. Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment and pioneers of super low loss amorphous transformer technology.The Role:You will operate welding machines to fuse metal segments together using MIG or other processesMeasuring, cutting, clamping, grinding, drilling, or tacking metal pieces before weldingYou will be required to fabricate parts following mechanical drawings.You will prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.You will be expected to maintain the highest level of workmanship standards and product quality ensuring products are produced and delivered OTIF to the customers requirements.You will check and complete all paperwork associated with the works order.Performance of area housekeeping activities, including the prompt reporting of problems shortages or equipment breakdowns.You may be required to visit customer sites throughout the UK.Using general workshop machinery and hand tools related the role.Quality inspection of colleagues output.Skills, Knowledge & Experience:Fabrication/welding- MIG, MMA/Stick Welding, Stud Welding and Plasma Cutting- essentialPreferable have experience using the Armarda Press BrakeHands-on experience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment - desirableThe ability to understand mechanical drawings - essentialOverhead crane/lifting slinging experience - desirableFLT Counterbalance - desirableHave good written and verbal communication skillsExperience of working collaboratively with other operations personnelExperience of working within a continuous improvement environment - desirableFull driving licence - essentialStrong attention to detailGood communication skillsSalary and benefits:Salary negotiable25 days holiday per year plus 8 bank holidaysCompany Profit Share Scheme (paid quarterly)Nine-day fortnight (37.5 hrs) plus two daily paid breaksSuperb canteen facility with tea, coffee and milk provided3 x salary death in serviceHealthcare cash plan schemeSalary sacrifice EV scheme and on-site electric charging points4 weeks full pay paternity/maternity leavePensionParking on siteBenefits:Free parkingOn-site parkingWork Location: In personTPBN1_UKTJ
