Job Description: Area ManagerResponsible To: Operations Manager or other Manager as designated by the companyShort Description:The AM is responsible for delivering Service User centred care; through the efficient operation of a number of Supported housing unit(s) and staff allocated to them in compliance with company processes and procedures.Specific Duties:The AM will be specifically responsible for:1. Maximisation of Service User interests by liaising with internal and external stakeholders; and2. Development, maintenance and implementation of a person centred care plan for each Service User3. Personal delivery of physical and mental care to Service Users4. Safeguarding the rights and dignity of each Service User5. Routine assessment and communication of Service User development to interested stakeholders6. Effective control ofService User financials and house budgets7. Fostering of a positive environment in which Service Users and staff actively engage8. Regular conduct of open and transparent two-way communication with Service Users and staff9. Maintaining thecleanliness, quality, security and safety of each home and individual service user accommodation10. Provision of management and supervision to subordinate staff11. Actively engage in performance and discipline management to maximise staff performance and assure compliance with company procedures12. Conduct of staff training needs analysis and the co-ordination and delivery of training and professional development to maximise staff competence13. Development and implementation of staff-rotas ensuring that appropriate staff cover is available to Service Users14. Successfully achieving the individual objectives set by the company15. Attending and actively participating in management reviews16. Accomplish self-audits and pro-actively engage in external compliance audits17. Enhancement current operations through continuous improvementGeneric Duties:In addition to specific responsibilities, the AM will also be responsible for ensuring:1. The maintenance of confidentiality of all information unless otherwise permitted by management2. Full compliance with companys vision, values,policies and procedures3. Compliance with legislation and GSCC Code of Conduct as reflected in company procedures4. Ongoing training and professional development as directed by the company5. Work in a manner that promotes team work and a collegial environment6. Active and positive promotion of the companys image and brand7. Other duties that may be assigned by managementQualifications:The following qualification, skills and experience are required for this role:1. NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management in Social Care (or equivalent) with a minimum of two years experience at Assistant Manager or Team Leader level within a care setting; and3. NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care with a minimum of three years experience of care-working4. Strong living skills that can be transferred to service users ie. shopping, cooking etc.5. Competence in the use of Microsoft Office and Internet applications6. Strong English spoken, listening, writing, communication and presentation skills7. Strong administration skills8.
