Compliance & Enforcement Officer, BostonMonday - FridayIncludes travel to local sites across the region - full driving license required. Includes car allowance.A respected public sector organisation responsible for managing critical infrastructure, environmental assets and flood risk across a significant operational area.The role:To help strengthen governance, regulatory compliance, risk management and organisational assurance, working as part of a small close-knit team with regular interaction with members of the public.Responsibilities:Enforcing land drainage laws and byelaws - ensuring members of the public and commercial organisations have completed relevant permission for their development/activityManaging the consent process for members or the public and commercial planning applications, according to land drainage and town planning actsEnsuring the organisation adheres to the relevant governance and policiesAdministering policies, background paperwork, and health and safety compliance of the organisation's activities.Working in a methodical and process-driven manner, following internal controls and external regulatory controlsRequired experience:Experience in some sort of public-facing enforcement role such as housing, construction, planning, HSE, audit, food safety or environmental is desirableExperience working in a heavily regulated environment/industryCompliance monitoring or policy adherence monitoring experience, ideally within planning regulationsA good understanding of health & safety and safe working practices, especially on construction sites or land development sitesSector background within local government, infrastructure, utilities, environmental services, housing, engineering or other regulated sectors is helpfulApplications are welcomed from former Armed Forces personnel and service leavers whose experience has developed strong leadership, operational assurance, governance and risk management capabilities.In return, this opportunity offers a varied and rewarding career, excellent professional development, a generous Local Government Pension Scheme, car allowance and the chance to make a genuine impact within an organisation that helps protect communities, businesses and the environment.TPBN1_UKTJ
