\nWe are looking for a skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our manufacturing site in Preston. This is a key role within our Maintenance team, supporting the reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement of our highly automated production plant.

\nThe Person
\nWe are looking for a technically strong electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer who thrives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
\nYou will be a hands-on problem solver with excellent fault-finding skills and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance. You will have experience working with automated manufacturing equipment and be comfortable diagnosing electrical faults while supporting mechanical maintenance activities when required.
\nYou will be safety conscious, detail focused and committed to continuous improvement, helping to reduce downtime and maximise equipment reliability and performance.
\nThe Role
\nAs a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias), reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving a wide range of automated manufacturing equipment and production systems.
\nYou will support both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown activities while working collaboratively with production teams and fellow engineers to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operation.
\nWhilst this role has a strong electrical focus, you will also support wider multi-skilled maintenance activities across site.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nElectrical Maintenance & Fault Finding
\nDiagnose and repair electrical faults across automated production equipment.
\nInvestigate root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
\nSupport improvements to equipment reliability and performance.
\nAutomation & Control Systems
\nMaintain and fault-find on control panels, motors, drives, sensors and associated equipment.
\nSupport PLC fault diagnosis and troubleshooting activities.
\nAssist with automation and controls improvement projects.
\nPlanned & Reactive Maintenance
\nComplete preventative maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules.
\nRespond to equipment breakdowns and restore plant operation safely and efficiently.
\nEnsure maintenance activities are recorded accurately within the maintenance management system.
\nMechanical Support
\nSupport mechanical maintenance activities when required.
\nWork with pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems across the manufacturing plant.
\nContinuous Improvement
\nIdentify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve asset reliability.
\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects.
\nContribute to the development of best practice maintenance standards.
\nHealth, Safety & Quality
\nComply with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
\nEnsure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with company standards.
\nSupport audit and compliance requirements as necessary.
\nRequirements
\nEssential
\nNVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
\nCompleted recognised apprenticeship in Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
\nPrevious experience within an industrial manufacturing maintenance environment.
\nStrong electrical fault-finding experience.
\nExperience maintaining automated production machinery and equipment.
\nAbility to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
\nGood IT skills and experience maintaining maintenance records.
\nDesirable
\nPLC fault-finding experience.
\nKnowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
\nIPAF licence.
\nFLT licence.
\nBasic welding experience.
