\n This is a high-impact freelance opportunity to shape the data foundations of a large, complex organisation as it consolidates fragmented platforms and enables self-service analytics and AI at scale. You will play a pivotal role in defining how enterprise data is structured, governed, and consumed, working at the intersection of business, engineering, and governance.\n

The business manages complex financial, operational, and customer data across a diverse portfolio and is investing heavily in modern data capabilities. \n The Role and Deliverables\n
\n
    \n
  • Lead the design of enterprise logical and physical data models aligned to a single core ERP and wider business domains.
  • \n
  • Work through a defined backlog, breaking down high-level requirements into clear modelling deliverables and standards.
  • \n
  • Partner closely with data engineers to translate logical models into scalable physical implementations across the SQL, Databricks, and Fabric ecosystem.
  • \n
  • Define a repeatable, "cookie-cutter" approach to data modelling that can be extended across additional business areas.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with business analysts, governance, and data teams to establish modelling standards and best practices.
  • \n
  • Deliver a robust, extensible data model within the first six months that supports current reporting needs and future AI enablement.

\n Your Skills & Experience\n
\n
    \n
  • Strong experience designing enterprise-level logical and physical data models within complex organisations.
  • \n
  • Ability to operate in early-stage or evolving data environments without heavy modelling tools, using pragmatic approaches.
  • \n
  • Experience working closely with data engineers, governance teams, and business stakeholders to align models to real-world use cases.
  • \n
  • Confident, proactive communicator who can challenge constructively, stand their ground when needed, and remain sensitive to different stakeholder perspectives.
  • \n
  • Self-starter mindset, able to take ownership of ambiguous problems and drive them through to delivery.
