This contract opportunity focuses on providing dedicated interpreting services for a 5th grade student, ensuring access to classroom communication and helping foster a fully inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience Desired:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting skills
- Prior experience working in educational settings, ideally with elementary-aged students
- Familiarity with interpreting in a classroom environment, supporting both academic and social interactions
- Flexibility, professionalism, and strong communication capabilities
- National or state interpreter certification preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa in a 5th grade classroom and during school activities
- Bridge communication between teachers, staff, peers, and the assigned student
- Encourage student participation, facilitating comprehension and engagement with curriculum
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to student privacy regulations
- Provide cultural and linguistic mediation as needed, ensuring sensitivity and respect
