Job Description
Provide guidance and support to elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a contract role for the upcoming school year. This onsite position is perfect for professionals comfortable working in a variety of settings, including resource and self-contained classrooms. The assignment is scheduled to begin in August and continue through late May, offering a consistent, full-time opportunity.
Key Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Special Education Educator Certificate
- Experience working with elementary-level students in special education
- Adaptable to differing classroom settings (resource, self-contained, and more)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to connect with students, staff, and families
- Ability to develop and implement differentiated instruction to meet individual needs
- Organized, compassionate, and adaptable in dynamic school environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to elementary students in accordance with IEPs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to optimize student success
- Foster an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere for all students
- Utilize data and observations to monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation
- Proactively address student needs and provide necessary behavioral or academic support
