Position Overview

Our organization is on the lookout for a skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) to become part of our Weekend Option program. This role requires working every weekend, specifically Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to determine the appropriate type and frequency of respiratory treatments, creating a tailored care plan based on their diagnosis.
• Deliver respiratory care services following specific physician orders, departmental policies, and established guidelines.
• Implement and oversee the patient care plan and associated equipment, while monitoring, documenting, and communicating the patient's condition.
• Administer advanced respiratory care techniques and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments and medications based on patient outcomes.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding health conditions and available community support resources.
• Assist in the care, calibration, and maintenance of all respiratory equipment, while helping to manage departmental inventory levels.
• Respond to medical emergencies and rapid response situations.
• Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent experience and education.
• Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

Physical Demands

• Regularly communicate verbally to share information.
• Frequent standing and walking are required.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing between 0-25 lbs, with some instances of 25-50 lbs.
• Regularly engage in sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
• Frequent visual acuity for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
• Regularly use smell to identify odors and hearing to receive oral communication and detect alarms.
• Occasional patient handling and movements, including bending, stooping, and twisting.
• Rarely required to crawl or run.

Licenses and Certifications

• Must hold a valid Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Respiratory Care Practitioner license from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration, or a Respiratory Educ Permit.
