Job Description
Step into a dynamic middle school environment and make a meaningful difference as a full-time general education math teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position is onsite, running from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, and offers the opportunity to engage with a diverse group of students in a welcoming setting. You’ll work 35 hours per week and play an active role in shaping the minds of general education learners, while collaborating with special education staff as needed.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid, active teaching certification or licensure appropriate for the caseload
- Bachelor’s degree required; essential for securing an emergency teaching permit
- Previous experience working in a school setting
- Demonstrated mastery of math subject matter at the middle school level
- Strong classroom and behavioral management expertise
- Experience working in urban educational environments
- Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
- Reliable transportation for daily attendance
- Comfortable navigating district policies and school culture
- Availability to work onsite, between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, with no schedule accommodations
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in alignment with state and district standards
- Use formative assessments and differentiated instruction to support all learners
- Maintain a supportive and well-managed classroom environment
- Collaborate with a dedicated team, including special education staff, to ensure student success
- Participate in faculty meetings and school-wide initiatives
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration
