• Active and current State Special Education Teaching License
• Demonstrated experience managing a High School Life Skills or self-contained classroom environment (other special education settings, such as resource rooms or general case management, are not a fit for this role)
• Strong understanding of high school transition planning and adaptive care
• Proven skill in developing and implementing innovative instruction and personalized learning objectives

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based instruction in functional academics, daily living, personal independence, and community engagement tailored to high school learners
• Oversee a specialized classroom, providing direction and support to paraprofessional staff to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment
• Create, update, and maintain IEPs that include functional and post-secondary transition goals, collaborating closely with families and related service providers
• Nurture student growth through data-driven practices and promote skill development beyond the classroom through real-life application and community experiences
