Overview

This role involves conducting a range of imaging examinations essential for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions and injuries. Responsibilities include performing plain films, fluoroscopy, portable imaging, and operating room exams, as well as conducting Bone Density assessments (BD registry required).

Key Responsibilities
  • To qualify for a Multiple Modality position, a minimum of 30% of FTE must be worked in a secondary modality.
  • Accurately position patients and select appropriate anatomical and technical parameters.
  • Implement safety standards and radiation protection protocols.
  • Assist physicians in performing special and advanced procedures.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agency standards.
  • Submit high-quality images and documentation to PACS promptly, ensuring correct lead markers and patient data/history.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment within the department, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
  • Work with a constant focus on safety and alertness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation
  • Completion of a program in Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy.
Experience
  • No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Frequent use of vision for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
  • Regularly communicate verbally, requiring good hearing and speech.
  • Ability to distinguish body sounds and detect alarms or machinery malfunctions through hearing.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Regularly assist in moving patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and data entry tasks.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional visual tasks requiring color differentiation.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of legs and arms.
  • Rarely required to kneel or sit.
Licenses and Certifications

Required certifications include:

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • And one of the following:
    • ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    • ARRT-T Radiation Therapy - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    • ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • And one of the following:
    • ARRT-CT Computed Tomography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    • Computed Tomography (CT) Credential - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
