Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students from Pre-K through 12th grade with your expertise in school-based occupational therapy. This contract assignment, located near Tacoma, WA, runs from early September 2026 through mid-June 2027 and offers full-time hours, typically structured around a 37.5-hour workweek, with schedules beginning at 8:00 AM and finishing by 3:30 PM. Please note that start and end times may vary to accommodate school assignments and meetings.

You’ll manage a caseload with up to 950 direct service minutes each week, delivering individualized and group therapies to help students achieve their fullest academic and functional potential. Collaboration, adaptability, and a passion for student progress are at the heart of this school-based position.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Washington state OT licensure (or eligibility and willingness to obtain)
  • Recent experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations
  • Knowledge of IEP processes and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Background in designing and implementing effective therapy interventions for diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and develop treatment plans aligned with educational goals
  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy sessions to Pre-K through 12th-grade students
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
  • Maintain timely and accurate records of student progress and services delivered
  • Adapt strategies and tools to accommodate daily schedule changes and unique student needs
