Make a meaningful difference as a Special Education teacher supporting elementary students with affective needs in the North Denver area. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work in a collaborative school environment, fostering growth and success for learners who benefit from compassionate and skilled instruction. Starting as soon as possible and continuing through early October, you’ll provide expert support for a single elementary school, ensuring each student receives individualized attention.

Qualifications:

  • Hold an active Colorado Teacher license with a Special Education Generalist (Ages 5-21) endorsement
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly those with affective needs, preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes, behavior intervention strategies, and differentiated instruction
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with students, families, and school staff
  • Reliability in returning required district contractor paperwork promptly

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and social-emotional support to students with affective needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain regular communication with families and collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
  • Employ positive behavior supports and track student progress toward goals
  • Participate in meetings, professional development, and school community activities as required
