Finance Associate

Client: Higher Education Job Title: Finance/Accounting Associate (Part-time - 20 hrs/week) Location: Palo Alto, CA 94304 – Remote Role (needs to be available onsite only for meetings) Duration: 3-months (with strong possibility of extension and potential for permanent hire) Pay Rate: ($34 - $36) on an hourly basis Shift timing/schedule: 5 day per week, 4 hr day (between 8-5) Responsibilities: Review and process accounting transactions and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, authorization, and compliance Review journal postings and financial records for consistency and accuracy Monitor accounting-system transactions and follow up on outstanding or unresolved items Respond to finance and transaction-related inquiries from internal client groups Resolve routine issues and escalate complex matters as needed Support purchasing card, travel card, and employee reimbursement processes Maintain departmental finance files, procedures, and process documentation Ensure adherence to organizational policies, federal regulations, and other applicable requirements Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and financial transaction processes Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities Proficiency with computerized office applications and accounting systems Preferred Qualifications Experience with Ora cle Financial Systems Experience supporting finance or accounting operations in a large or complex organization.
