We are seeking a Facilities Surplus Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in safe material handling, property disposition, and warehouse operations and a proven ability to clear facilities and prepare surplus in compliance with procedures and state requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Remove furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials from assigned buildings.
  • Follow direction from the Property Inventory Manager on property disposition, including disposal of non-salvageable materials.
  • Relocate property designated for future use per assignment.
  • Prepare and transport surplus property for State Surplus auction.
  • Load, unload, transport, and stage materials using appropriate equipment and safe lifting techniques.
  • Organize, label, and stage surplus items in designated storage or warehouse locations.
  • Handle property carefully to prevent damage during relocation.
  • Perform basic disassembly of furniture, shelving, or equipment as needed for removal or transport.
  • Remove debris and perform final cleaning of interior spaces after material removal.
  • Prepare buildings for turnover by ensuring they are clean, empty, and free of discarded materials.
  • Maintain safe work practices and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report damaged property, safety hazards, or unusual conditions to the Property Inventory Manager.
  • Operate hand tools, dollies, pallet jacks, carts, and related equipment.
  • Assist with other facilities support duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to safely perform strenuous physical labor throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment when necessary.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license preferred.
