Retail Pharmacist in Cooperstown, NY

A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacist to oversee and manage a retail pharmacy department within a well-established grocery store setting. This role offers both interim and permanent positions in Oneonta, NY, with a structured schedule designed to support work-life balance.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Closed Sundays

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the supervising pharmacist or pharmacist in charge, maintaining registration with the state board of pharmacy.
• Ensure pharmacy compliance with all federal, state, board of pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
• Manage overall pharmacy operations including budget control, payroll, third-party administration, scheduling, and inventory management to optimize financial performance.
• Lead pharmacy support staff through effective guidance, training, and performance review.
• Participate actively in community and in-store business development activities.
• Provide patient-centered services including immunizations, medication therapy management (MTM), and wellness programs.
• Counsel patients and healthcare providers on medication use, side effects, interactions, and therapy compliance.
• Maintain continuous quality improvement to ensure patient safety and professional standards.
• Uphold cleanliness and organization standards within the pharmacy workspace.
• Complete all required continuing education and company training programs.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid New York State Pharmacist License (required)
• Immunization Certification with confidence in administering all vaccines (required)
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage pharmacy personnel effectively
• Excellent communication skills for patient counseling and collaborative healthcare
