Job Description
Make a positive difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher in two supportive resource classroom environments: one elementary and one middle school. This full-time, contract role runs from August 19, 2026, through May 27, 2027, and focuses on delivering individualized instruction and support to help each student achieve their fullest potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Texas Special Education Teacher Certification
- Experience working in resource classroom settings or comparable environments
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to various learning needs and styles
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction in one elementary and one middle school resource classroom
- Develop and execute tailored lesson plans in alignment with students' IEP goals
- Conduct assessments and track student progress, reporting outcomes per state and district guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families to promote student success
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom culture that encourages confidence and growth
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, interventions, and communication
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and ongoing training as required
