Electrophysiologist I - Full Time

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Conducting thorough electrophysiologic assessments and studies for patients experiencing cardiac arrhythmias.
• Providing care before and after electrophysiological procedures for patients.
• Executing advanced electrophysiology techniques, such as catheter ablation, implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, and managing devices.
• Evaluating patients to determine their eligibility for various electrophysiologic treatments and offering recommendations based on established guidelines.
• Managing and assessing patients with complex arrhythmias and related cardiovascular issues in both outpatient and inpatient environments.
• Interpreting diagnostic tests including electrocardiograms (ECG), Holter monitors, and event monitors.
• Creating and implementing personalized treatment strategies for individuals with cardiac arrhythmias.
• Collaborating with the cardiology team and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
• Participating in the education and training of medical students, residents, fellows, and nursing staff regarding cardiac electrophysiologic disorders.
• Engaging in ongoing professional development and keeping abreast of the latest advancements in electrophysiology through participation in professional organizations, conferences, and educational events.
• Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and committees as needed by the department and facility.
• Ensuring accurate documentation of patient interactions, procedures, and treatment plans in line with organizational policies and regulations.
• Assisting in the development and refinement of clinical protocols and standards within the electrophysiology service.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Board certification in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
• Board certification or eligibility in electrophysiology.
• A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited medical or osteopathic institution recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• A current, unrestricted medical or surgical license to practice in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, including the District of Columbia.

Working Conditions

The work schedule will typically be Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the expectation of call coverage and weekend rounding as necessary. Alternate schedules may be arranged to accommodate the organization's needs.
