Key Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania reading specialist certification and active PA certification/licensure
- Proven school-based experience as a Reading Specialist
- Mastery of reading instruction, classroom management, and differentiation
- Deep understanding of state and district curriculum standards
- Experience working successfully in an urban educational environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and behavioral management skills
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to complete required PA clearances prior to start
- Comfort working onsite and familiarity with the region
- Readiness for a virtual interview via Zoom
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and implement effective reading interventions aligned to current educational standards
- Design engaging lesson plans grounded in formative assessment and respond to varying student needs
- Utilize rich instructional resources and proven strategies to help students overcome reading challenges
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to foster a positive learning atmosphere
- Consistently monitor and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to maximize success
