Make an immediate impact in the lives of students by providing crucial 1:1 support as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic school-based setting. Two full-time contract opportunities are available, each offering 37.5 hours per week serving elementary students in supportive classroom environments. Your expertise will play a key role in fostering effective communication and enhancing the educational experience for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language and prior experience as a sign language interpreter in school settings
  • Current EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, or RID certification
  • Valid GaPSC certification required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to supporting inclusive learning
  • Ability to collaborate with educators and adapt to individual student needs

What You’ll Do:

  • Work directly with an elementary student, interpreting classroom instruction and peer interactions
  • Facilitate comprehension and engagement with academic content through accurate and confidential interpreting
  • Partner with teachers and staff to ensure students’ needs are met throughout the school day
  • Assist with both structured classroom activities and informal communication throughout campus life
  • Support seamless communication in all educational settings, meetings, and school events as needed
