Job Description
Make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting K-12 students in an engaging school environment near Des Plaines, IL. This contract position begins on 8/12/2026 and offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, with 35 hours per week, serving a dedicated caseload of 13 students.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid and current LBS1 certification
- Previous experience working with K-12 students preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) effectively
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to diverse learning needs in accordance with each student's IEP
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to maximize student growth
- Maintain accurate records, track progress, and attend all relevant meetings
- Cultivate a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student independence and social-emotional development
- Utilize evidence-based interventions and instructional strategies to address a variety of learning challenges
