VIP staffing is currently hiring a Commercial Handrail Fabricator/Installer for a great company in Albuquerque
This is a Full Time Direct Hire position with a schedule of Monday- Friday 7am - 3:30pm
Pay for this position is $30-$35 per hour DOE
As a Commercial Handrail Fabricator/ Installer you will:
- Perform accurate field measurements for handrail and pedestrian guardrail projects.
- Read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
- Fabricate commercial steel handrails and pedestrian guardrail systems from shop drawings and field measurements.
- Layout, fit, tack weld, and complete weld railing assemblies.
- Install surface-mounted and embedded railing systems
- Verify completed work complies with project specifications, ADA requirements, and applicable building codes.
- Operate fabrication equipment including cold saws, drill presses, magnetic drills, grinders, ironworkers, and welding equipment.
- Perform MIG welding on carbon steel: TIG welding experience is a plus.
- Prepare fabricated assemblies for painting or powder coating
- Coordinate installations with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, and customers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Mentor less experienced employees and promote quality workmanship.
Commercial Handrail Fabricator/ Installer Candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- 5+ years experience fabricating and installing commercial steel handrails and pedestrian guardrail systems.
- Demonstrated experience with ADA-compliant ramps, stairs, handrails, and guardrails.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Strong layout, measuring, fitting, and fabrication skills.
- Proficient in MIG welding
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with municipal, educational, or public works construction projects.
- Experience preparing or reviewing shop drawings.
- Experience with field welding and field modifications.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Forklift and aerial lift certification.
