Job Summary:\n
\n
\nThe Maintanance Technician is responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of building operations across Shields Manufacturing facilities. This role ensures the facility is in excellent working order by performing inspections, repairs, and upgrades while creating a safe and well-maintained environment. The Facilities Technician will contribute to the continued operation of the organization by actively addressing facility needs and maintaining the highest standards of upkeep.\n

Duties/Responsibilities:\n
\n
\nFacility Maintenance and Repair\n
\n

\n
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings and structures toidentifymalfunctions and needed repairs.
\n
• Perform minor electrical maintenance, including tasks such as repairing or replacing fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, sockets, fuses, and minor appliances, usingappropriate tools.
\n
• Carry out routine HVAC maintenance, including cleaning evaporators and condensers, replacing filters, inspecting belts, and cleaning condensate drains; ensure control settings meet established guidelines.
\n
• Address minor plumbing issues, such as repairing leaks, replacing faucets, and unclogging drains.
\n

Facility Development and Arrangement\n
\n

\n
• Undertake minor painting, carpentry, and masonry tasks, including preparing surfaces and applying finishes (e.g., paint, stains, varnishes) to preserve materials andmaintaina safe environment.
\n
• Reconfigure and arrange furniture, modular offices, and workspaces to meet user needs using tools, dollies, and hand trucks.
\n
• Paint and prepare surfaces on various structures and equipment, including walls, floors, roofs, and restroom facilities, usingappropriate toolsand techniques

Vendor Communication\n
\n

\n
• Solicit bids and quotes from vendors for tasks outside general maintenance requirements.
\n
• Order necessary parts and supplies whilemaintainingaccuraterecords of transactions and documents.
\n

\n
Recordkeeping\n
\n

\n
• Accurately complete andsubmitrequired logs, forms, and documentationin a timely manner.
\n
• Perform inspections of related records to ensure completion, accuracy, and compliance.
\n

Education and Experience:\n
\n

\n
• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
\n
• Valid driver's licenserequired.
\n
• Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, Polaris vehicles, and hand-powered tools.
\n
• Proficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills in a Windows environment.
\n
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
\n
• Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform basic calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
\n
• Capability to apply common sense to resolve problems and follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
\n

\nThe role involves working in diverse environments, including offices, outdoor settings, construction areas, and manufacturing floors\n
\n
\nPhysical Requirements: \n
\n
\nAbility to stand and walk for most of the day, performing tasks that require bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, reaching, handling, and lifting.\n
\n
\nCapacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.\n
\n
