Accounting (AR and AP) Specialist

King of Prussia, PA | In Office

LHH has partnered with a local consulting firm in their search for an Accounting Specialist to join their growing team. This position offers a unique opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a blend of accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking, and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable
  • Maintain and update billing rules and revenue projections based on contract terms and project rates
  • Process monthly client invoices, including fixed-fee, hourly, and reimbursable expenses
  • Manage collections efforts and respond to client billing inquiries
  • Support customer onboarding activities, including W-9 collection and documentation
  • Prepare lien waivers and manage customer-specific billing requirements and portal submissions
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on aged balances
Accounts Payable
  • Enter and process vendor invoices accurately and timely
  • Assist with weekly accounts payable check runs
  • Coordinate vendor payments, including scheduled and call-in payments
  • Support vendor onboarding and maintain accurate 1099 records
Banking & Cash Management
  • Match and post bank transactions within the accounting system
  • Process incoming payments, including checks and ACH transactions
  • Prepare and upload Positive Pay files
  • Support credit card and FSA transaction processing
Operations & Administrative Support
  • Monitor and manage the finance department inbox
  • Maintain purchase orders and billing rules within project systems
  • Process and code employee expense reports, including executive expenses
  • Import and reconcile corporate credit card transactions
  • Follow up on missing timesheets to support payroll and billing accuracy
  • Assist with audits, compliance reporting, and documentation requests
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance and operations teams
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or General Accounting
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred
  • Familiarity with project-based accounting environments is highly desirable
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills; Smartsheet experience is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
