As a Leasing Consultant, you will be the face of the community, creating positive first impressions while guiding prospects through the leasing process from initial inquiry to move-in. Position Overview
The Leasing Consultant plays a critical role in maintaining occupancy goals, building resident relationships, and supporting the daily operations of the community. You will work closely with property management and maintenance teams to ensure prospects and residents receive outstanding service at every stage of their experience.
This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing leasing, administrative, and customer service responsibilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeasing & Sales
- Greet prospective residents and provide a welcoming, professional experience.
- Conduct property tours and showcase available apartment homes and community amenities.
- Qualify prospects and identify housing needs.
- Effectively demonstrate apartment features and benefits.
- Convert leads into leases while achieving occupancy and leasing goals.
- Maintain a strong closing ratio through effective follow-up and relationship-building.
- Respond promptly to phone, email, and online inquiries.
- Conduct follow-up calls and communications with prospective residents.
- Maintain accurate traffic and prospect documentation.
- Address resident questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Support resident retention initiatives and promote resident satisfaction.
- Process rental applications and verify required documentation.
- Prepare lease agreements and supporting paperwork.
- Maintain accurate records and leasing reports.
- Assist with rent collection support and resident correspondence as needed.
- Update marketing and lead-tracking systems.
- Participate in outreach and marketing efforts to promote the community.
- Assist with move-in and move-out procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of current market conditions and competing properties.
- Conduct market surveys and provide feedback on leasing trends.
- Support community events and resident engagement programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous leasing, property management, sales, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong sales aptitude and customer-focused mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional and confident presentation.
- Ability to build rapport quickly with prospective and current residents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems, email, and property management software is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
