Special Education Teacher - 4th grade - Contract
Location: Washington, DC 20002
Position Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $38.00–$42.00 per hour (based on experience)
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 4th Grade Math Special Education Teacher to join our team on a contract basis in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate is committed to helping students with diverse learning needs achieve academic success through engaging, individualized instruction.
Responsibilities
Provide specialized math instruction to 4th grade students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Develop and implement lesson plans that meet academic standards and student learning goals.
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student evaluations as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Valid Special Education teaching certification/license.
Experience teaching elementary math, preferably in a special education setting.
Knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Compensation
$38.00–$42.00 per hour, depending on experience.
