Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as an occupational therapist in a vibrant intermediate school environment near Des Plaines, IL. This position focuses on providing expertise for grades 3-5 within a single building, working closely with students, educators, and families to foster optimal learning experiences.

You’ll enjoy a consistent schedule throughout the 2026-2027 academic year, with hours from 8:05 am to 2:45 pm on two to three days each week. Your caseload will center around about 25 students, primarily delivering consultative services with select direct therapy for fine motor and sensory needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Illinois Occupational Therapist licensure and NBCOT certification
  • Strong foundation in school-based OT best practices, particularly for intermediate (grades 3-5) populations
  • Experience with fine motor and sensory interventions within educational settings
  • Collaborative communication skills to partner effectively with teams, students, and families
  • Previous experience in a consultative OT role is highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate student needs and provide consultative support to enhance classroom participation
  • Deliver targeted direct services for fine motor and sensory concerns as identified
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans, monitoring student progress
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate OT strategies into classroom routines
  • Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with school and professional standards
