Occupational Therapist School Setting in Schaumburg, IL

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in an intermediate school setting for the upcoming academic year! This position is perfect for a dedicated Occupational Therapist passionate about helping learners in grades 3-5 develop essential fine motor and sensory processing skills.

You’ll serve a single building, primarily consulting and providing occasional direct services to a caseload of approximately 25 students. Collaborate closely with an engaged staff and make a visible impact on every child’s educational journey. Position runs from September 8, 2026, through June 16, 2027.

Key Details:

• Work 2 to 3 days weekly (choose between 2 full days or more days with reduced hours)
• Hours: 8:05 am to 2:45 pm
• Focused on providing fine motor and sensory support, mostly consultation
• Support intermediate learners (grades 3-5) in one location for the full school year

Qualifications:

• Licensed or eligible for Occupational Therapy practice in Illinois
• Recent experience with pediatric populations, preferably within a school setting
• Confident in consultative and direct service delivery, adapting interventions for mild to moderate needs
• Solid communication and collaboration skills, able to partner with teachers and staff
• Organized, proactive, and compassionate approach to serving students

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records
• Deliver consultative and direct OT services, focusing on fine motor and sensory needs
• Collaborate with school team members to support educational goals
• Provide recommendations and strategies for classroom accommodations
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive school climate
