School Psychologist - Cuba, New York
Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of students as a full-time School Psychologist supporting two districts near the Cuba, NY area. This contract opportunity allows you to foster positive educational outcomes, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide essential mental health and learning support to students.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience in school-based psychological assessment, counseling, and intervention
- Familiarity with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families
- Ability to work efficiently across multiple schools
- Previous experience with IEP development, behavioral support planning, and crisis intervention a plus
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments and interpret results to guide student learning plans
- Provide individual and group counseling to students
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop strategies to support students’ academic, social, and emotional success
- Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans
- Deliver training, consultation, and prevention services for school staff and families
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and crisis response initiatives
- Maintain accurate, organized documentation and comply with ethical and legal standards
