Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time role offers you the chance to make a real impact in a collaborative, student-centered environment. The position is set in the greater Derry, NH area and covers grades 9–12, matching your expertise to a high school caseload.
You’ll work Monday through Friday, 32–37.5 hours per week, with student hours from 7:15 am–2:15 pm and a schedule of four 90-minute instructional blocks each day. Every day includes a dedicated prep period, ensuring you have time for planning and assessment. Your ability to provide specially designed instruction, manage IEPs, and track student progress will be highly valued here.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active certification in Special Education (or eligibility for New Hampshire certification)
- Experience with high school caseloads and IEP management
- Strong background in data collection, progress monitoring, and academic evaluations
- Effective communicator with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Skilled in providing specially designed instruction and supporting student needs
- Preferred: Expertise in behavior management and transition planning
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee case management for assigned high school students
- Develop, implement, and maintain IEPs
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Complete academic assessments and Regular progress monitoring
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators
- Foster open, ongoing communication with families
- Support students with behavioral and transitional needs as required
