Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education professional dedicated to supporting high school students. This full-time contract role is designed for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering specialized instruction to students in grades 9-12. With a schedule running from August 2026 through June 2027 and typical work hours from 7:10 AM to 2:30 PM, you’ll enjoy consistent weekdays while managing a high school caseload.
You’ll work within an A/B day schedule, featuring four 90-minute instructional blocks and a daily prep period, alongside a committed team of educators and support staff.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience working with high school students in a special education setting
- Strong case management skills and knowledge of IEP development/management
- Ability to provide specially designed instruction, academic evaluations, and ongoing progress monitoring
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families and colleagues
- Experience with data collection and analysis to inform instruction
- Preferred: Background in behavior management and transition planning
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of high school students with diverse learning needs
- Deliver specially designed instruction in alignment with IEP goals
- Develop, implement, and document IEPs, ensuring compliance and student growth
- Conduct academic evaluations and monitor student progress using data-driven practices
- Maintain open communication with families, staff, and related service providers
- Collaborate with general education teachers and school teams to support inclusive education
